Your information
Privacy notice.
A plain-English explanation of what I collect, why I collect it and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who is responsible for your information?
Naomi Garrity, trading as Blank Canvas Digital in Leeds, is the data controller. That means I am responsible for deciding how and why your personal information is used.
What I collect
If you use the contact form, I may collect your name, email address, phone number, business name and the information you put in your message.
If you use the free website speed check, I collect your email address, website URL, speed score and the individual speed results returned by Google PageSpeed Insights. The form also records the date and time of the check.
Why I use it
I use enquiry details to read your message, reply to you and discuss the work you have asked about. I use speed-check details to show and email your results.
If you tick the marketing consent box, I may also send occasional emails with practical tips about websites and getting found online. You can unsubscribe at any time.
My lawful basis
For enquiries, I rely on legitimate interests. It is reasonable for me to use the details you send so I can understand and reply to your request.
For occasional marketing emails, I rely on your consent. The speed-check box is not pre-ticked, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Where it is stored
Enquiry and speed-check information may be stored in Google Workspace and Google Sheets. Form delivery is handled by Web3Forms. Website performance data is requested from Google PageSpeed Insights.
These providers may process information on systems outside the UK. Their own privacy terms and safeguards apply to that processing.
How long I keep it
I normally keep enquiry records and website speed results for up to 24 months so I can follow up and understand previous conversations. If you become a client, some records may need to be kept longer for contracts, accounts or legal obligations.
Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent or the address is no longer active. I review stored information regularly and remove what is no longer needed.
Who receives it
I do not sell your information. It may be handled by the trusted services needed to run the forms, email, spreadsheets and website checks. I only share it where this is necessary to provide the service, run the business or meet a legal duty.
Your rights
You can ask what information I hold about you, ask for a correction, ask for it to be deleted, object to certain uses or withdraw marketing consent. Some rights depend on the situation and the reason the information is being held.
To make a request, email info@blankcanvasdigital.co.uk. I may need to confirm your identity before making a change.
Questions or complaints
Start by emailing info@blankcanvasdigital.co.uk so I can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
